Lumiere Cosmetics Mineral Make Up: Eyes Face and Cheeks

The lovely folk at Lumiere had mentioned before Christmas that they wanted some bloggers to try out their mineral make up. I haven't used much mineral make up before so I was interested in giving it a try. I got sent a questionnaire by the company asking about my complexion, colour preferences and skin tone. It was lovely, they had even asked me which eye colours I would like to try. I looked through the range (huge by the way) and thought I really want to do a dark smoked khaki eye.

Lumiere Eye Dust without flash

I picked Khaki, Emerald and Mysterious and let the company pick the correct blushers and foundation powder for my skin. When they arrived I was thrilled!

Eye dust with flash, check out that pigment

One thing I was really surprised about was the richness and depth of the colours. There is a lot of pigment and light refraction in the powders. You can see that the Khaki turns into a gold, Mysterious develops a silver sheen and Emerald goes very strongly green. Gorgeous.

Swatched No Flash

Flash, blurred to show sparkle

Swatched with Flash

One thing I was very aware of was how strong the pigments were, there was a lot of life in the colours. When I was using them I really was able to blend the shades out and there was still colour on my lid.

I tried to blur this a little to capture some of the lively sparkle you can see how pigmented it is.

I took the colours and made a smoky khaki eye with it, Khaki was brushed over the lid, accented with Mysterious and Emerald in the inner corner and round the bottom. It created a really easy look which just has not budged all day.

I used Fair Cool cashmere mineral powder over my face when I had applied my concealer and moisturiser. It spread relatively easy and I was surprised as I didn't think it would have the level of coverage that it did.

I also used the mineral blush and bronzer on my face. The blush was nicely matt and pinked up my cheeks very delicately, the blush bronzer I used to highlight my cheek bones.

I was really surprised when I used the Lumiere products as I didn't expect to get the pigmentation or the coverage that I did. I've used other dusts which have been a bit messy and not as pigmented as this. They're a really rich colour. I've checked out some of the other colours in the range and they have the most amazing brights! I can only imagine how wonderfully pigmented they'd be too.

If you want to check out Lumiere their website is here I'm pretty impressed!

Much Love
