Hocus Focus Alacazam :Soap and Glory Hocus Focus

Another post today in the spirit of my Smoulder Kohl post. I've been trying to answer questions I've been asked about Soap and Glory products by working my way through my little collection and showing how each works.

Today I thought I'd show Hocus Focus, I was asked on Twitter really recently about how exactly it differs from Bright Here Bright Now. Well I've reviewed that one here so you can read the review yourself, but even though they both have similar properties they are different in use and effect.

Bright Here Bright Now has the clue in the name. It's a brightening lotion which I put on in the morning, it tightens and lifts the skin making it look fresher and brighter. Hocus Focus is completely different although it does brighten your skin its purpose is to create a gauzy glow detracting from any flaws in the skin. You mix a blob of it in with your foundation in the morning and you get a foundation that's filled with little light diffusing spheres, the point of which is to bounce the light around and create a glow. You can also use it as a highlighter by itself. If you see the pictures below you'll see why.

I was thinking about the best way to show how the lotion reacts to light, there would be no way that I'd be able to get a good photo of it in the foundation so I thought I'd show it unadulterated by the foundation as it would be if you were using it as a highlighter.

Below are photos of the lotion in natural light and in direct sunlight outside. I think from these you can see quite how illuminating it is. There's no flash just me indoors in daytime in the first and outdoors in the light below.

So mixed in with foundation you get that illumination the whole way through. It creates a dewy look and light-scrambling spheres apparently go to work on any large pores, wrinkles or skin pigmentation issues.

Hopefully this has cleared up any questions that may have been raised. And I'll happily answer any more.

Much Love

I could definitely use an illuminating lotion...on most days! I run out of the house so quick sometimes and this would be an awesome way to not look tired! Thanks for the tip.
