Rock and Roll Smoulder Kohl: Soap and Glory Smoulder Kohl Review

I always get asked questions about Soap and Glory, and I always enjoy answering them. In fact I enjoy answering them so much I frequently run through many twitter messages. This being the case I made it my mission this year to work my way through all the Soap and Glory products I have so that in future I can help people by sending them to a blog post rather than just me prattling on.

Today is the turn of Soap and Glory Smoulder Kohl, the waterproof kohl liner from the cosmetics range. If you've been reading the blog for a while you'll know that I'm a fan of liquid liner and indeed use Soap and Glory Supercat liquid liner quite a lot also, so a kohl liner was something new for me. The Soap and Glory Kohl does not disappoint.

One of the issues I always have with kohl liners is sometimes they're seriously HARD. To get any of the pencil onto the lid is a strength contest which is most definitely not good for the thin eye skin. We've all bought these kohl liners before and it easily puts you off trying them again. Thankfully the Soap and Glory Smoulder Kohl is lovely and soft and easily applied. You shouldn't need to pull at your eyes with this and the consistency is soft enough that you get a colour without leaving behind excess liner.

To create a look with it I thought, 'well I'll do what it says on the tin! Smoulder'. So I decided to create a smouldery rock look with the kohl.

Now hopefully from this picture you can see what I've tried to do with the liner. I've taken it softly over the lid and then smudged it out with just my finger. It smudges very easily. Then I relined and smudged again until I got the look I wanted.

I don't have particularly large lids, I'm always very envious of the girls that do, so for me it was just important to get the liner on the lash line and smudge out to create depth to the eye but not have a flat black look.

Very cleverly the lid of the kohl liner also houses a sharpener (no having to hunt for one) this is very handy as the kohl is lovely and soft and to keep the line nice and sharp you will have to use it often.

My verdict is it's a definite keeper, you won't feel like you're pulling you lids by applying it and as I've been trying it for the last 2 weeks I can attest to the fact that it smudges nicely but it is waterproof and as long as you stay away from any ferocious eye rubbing it stays put.

So here's my finished look! Red lips, smoulder eyes, a little gold in the corner from BD for Tesco to add some light and pigmentation. It's giving me a chance to show off my new dark locks.

What do you think girls? Will you try it? Do you like kohl?

 Much Love
