Last week we went out for Valentine's Night. I had no idea where we were going, himself wouldn't tell me so when we pulled up to the water I was slightly baffled. Off we trotted over the cobbles, yes can I point out I was in heels, heels on cobbles nightmare scenarios. But I clung to Himself's arm and he eventually led me to a gangplank
So over I went into the long barge! I had no idea what to expect, I didn't even know there was a restaurant over here. Shame on me right? I've lived in Belfast for quite some time after all.Well downstairs it turns out is a museum and upstairs was a restaurant. Fabulous.
On the barge! Portholes and everything, I was not disappointed. So I stood there wondering what a restaurant on a barge was meant to look like, was it going to be small and pokey, would we be sharing tables or was it liable to be a little ramshackle?
I needn't have worried.
Welcome to The Galley
Himself checking out the menu
There was fantastic music courtesy of Wookalily and even though the restaurant was only small it was such a fantastic intimate little spot for a Valentines dinner.
We had very big steaks and lots of red wine, it was really wonderful, completely different to anything we had done on Valentine's Day before.
Not the best picture in the world but I had been at the wine.
So there you have it folks, it's a definite little gem in Belfast. If you're on the hunt you can find it docked just behind the Waterfront Hall. Apparently they do a rather lovely lunch menu, good right?
Before I go, do you want to see Himself chased by some bronze sheep?
Course you do.
So my lovelies that's all from me. I'll be back very soon to show you my new polka dot vintage dress, I love it a lot!
